Meet Hannah Freezer

Meet Hannah Freezer. 10-year-old Hannah had been sick and in pain for months, and parents, Mike and Brenda, were frustrated after several misdiagnoses. They wanted answers…and finally, on April 30th, 2011, answers were what the Freezer family got when their daughter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.). Although partially relieved to at last have a diagnosis for Hannah, Hannah and her loved ones were horrified to find out that she had cancer. Since diagnosis, Hannah has undergone many chemotherapy treatments and receives routine, painful spinal taps. In addition, Hannah has struggled with diabetes that doctors are unsure if it stems from the steroids or if she has Type 1 Diabetes that will remain throughout her life. For this, only time will tell, and for now, Hannah’s blood sugars are closely monitored and she is given insulin when necessary. Despite two diagnoses in just ten months, Hannah, surrounded by parents Mike and Brenda and loving sister, Sarah, has displayed perserverance and strength in the face of cancer and is kicking it’s booty. Still, she will remain in treatment for nearly two years in the hopes of eliminating the cancer and preventing it’s return. To learn more about Hannah and her fight, visit her caringbridge. Butterfly Kisses has been blessed to be a part of Hannah’s courageous fight against Leukemia.
